As a little girl, I dreamed of having a big family. I always said I wanted at least six children.
Time passed, and I stopped counting life’s wounds—yet life never stopped counting my years.
Every year I hoped that this time it would work. That we were both healthy, and that a baby would come to us.
But life unfolded differently, and I went through one unsuccessful pregnancy after another.
I tried everything available.
From herbal teas, exercise, and supplements to healers. From IVF to regressions, relaxation techniques, and autosuggestion.
Nothing.
I had an incredible man by my side, who year after year held me in his arms in a pool of blood after repeated miscarriages, whispering into my ear that everything would be okay.
It wasn’t.
We went through every test imaginable, and after years the doctors helplessly said:
“Hmm… it’s probably age.”
Constellation after constellation. Regression work. Inner work. Transformation became my daily bread. I didn’t mind.
I was willing to change any belief, to go through hell itself if necessary.
When I was 38, on the edge of despair, I asked my inner self: What else am I supposed to do?
My soul answered without hesitation:
“Write the book.”
My legs gave way, my stomach turned. Anything but that!
Some fantasy, maybe a romantic story—but a personal confession!?
Writing took more than two years. It was a profound confrontation with myself.
But I had a motivation for which I would have crossed the ends of the earth.
In December, on my fortieth birthday, I finished the book—and received a small kitten.
I would have polished the book for the rest of my life, but my soul insisted: It is enough.
I promised I would publish it. Even if it were to be the last thing I ever did.
Then January came. Work with editors, the book cover, revisions, preparations for the book launch—and a pregnancy test.
I didn’t go to the doctor. “Not until three months,” I thought. I was simply afraid it would end the same way again.
In the book, there is a passage where I am sitting at home, pregnant, with a kitten resting on my lap.
I wrote it before it happened.
My inner knowing already knew.
The book was born from the dark night of the soul.
But it fulfills wishes.
For me, it fulfilled the greatest one.
